Join us for a virtual screening and discussion of the film "Power to Heal: Medicare and the Civil Rights Revolution".

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Professor Dean Robinson on the current US healthcare system and medicare for all movement.

Dean E. Robinson is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Massachusetts, at Amherst. He completed his Ph.D. in political science at Yale University and underwent postdoctoral training as a W.K. Multidisciplinary Scholar in Health Disparities at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. His teaching and research focuses on the racial and class disparities in health in the United States. His current research includes a community based study (with Men of Color Health Awareness) that examines chronic stress and disease among low-income Black males in Springfield, MA. He is the author of Black Nationalism in American Politics and Thought (Cambridge 2001) and is working on a book on the political economy of health care in the United States. Robinson has extensive experience in the labor movement and recently completed three year terms on the boards of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and the National Education Association.
